#RBOrunsOAK 2018 a great success!
Thanks to your generosity, our Fall fundraiser on saturday 10/27 raised a bunch of money to support our Spring 2019 season that starts in January. Highlights of the day included:
- A 30 mile run through Oakland's diverse neighborhoods promoting our organization and stopping to thank our local company sponsors.
- The Hellaween 5K race around Lake Merritt with 100+ of our student
runners, many in costume.
Please join me in supporting an Oakland organization that is doing great work with low income families and youth. Running for a Better Oakland’s annual fundraising event #RBOrunsOAK 2018 is on!
On Saturday morning October 27th, the founder, coaches (including me!) and RBO volunteers will join together to run various legs of a 33-mile route connecting each of Oakland’s seven districts to kick-off a day of fundraising and community celebration. The last leg will be completed by the RBO student runners who will participate in the Hella-ween 5K race around Lake Merritt.
Running for a Better Oakland goal is to raise at least $25,000 through this event to support the 2019 program, which includes scholarship grants for college-bound 12th graders, running shoes, T-shirts, race entry fees and transportation to trail and city runs for all student participants.
