$2,500 goal

Hello!!

I am fundraising for the Pacific Crest Trail Association, a non-profit organization, who is the primary protector of the PCT. The PCTA preserves and maintains trails, improves trail signage, develops protocols for managing wildfires and provides advocacy for further land protection as 10% of the 2,659 mile trail is located on private lands which are open for development, clear cutting and barriers.

Crater Lake.  Crater Lake National Park, Oregon.

I am thru-hiking the PCT in the summer of 2017 and would like to make a positive impact on the trail that I will be on for 4 months!  I plan on volunteering while attempting to thru-hike the the iconic trail, and your donations will further improve the trail that hundreds of thousands of people use every year!

Eagle Creek Trail.  Part of the PCT in northern Oregon.

I would like to raise $2,500 so the PCTA can continue to provide advocacy, land protection, outreach, trail management and publish up to date resources such as trail maps, trail closures and weather emergencies for hikers.  The PCTA issues permits for the nearly 3000 thru-hikers that attempt to hike the entire trail every year. They are also the main collaborator with the different entities that operate the 3 National Monuments, 7 State Parks, 7 National Parks, 24 National Forests and 48 Congressionally-designated Wilderness Areas that are located on the PCT.

Upper Yosemite Falls.  Yosemite National Park, California.

The mission of the Pacific Crest Trail Association is to protect, preserve and promote the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail as a world-class experience for hikers and equestrians, and for all the values provided by wild and scenic lands.

The PCTA's vision is to ensure the entire PCT corridor is permanently protected, well maintained and effectively managed. The trail is world renowned for offering a rare opportunity to travel through exceptionally scenic, remote, primitive landscapes.

I would greatly appreciate any amount that you are able to donate!
