Discouragement and Renewal
Well I have been quiet for quite some time due to discouragement. I reinjured an old calf inury in March as was unable to run for several weeks...So I doubled up on my biking and my swimming and started walking for receovery. While discouraging, it was getting better until until Saturday, April 21st when I decided it felt well enough to try some running again. Big mistake... It was not totally healed and re-reinjured the calf much worse. Ten times worse to the point that I was unable even to drive my clutch car and had to rent an automatic car for 2 weeks to allow healing to occur.. It hurt so bad that I was even unable to ride my bike as well. This led to much discouragement and even thoughts of dropping out of the event... I had to wallow in self pity for awhile, thought it slowly got better again. After 2 weeks, I was finally able to get in to see the dr. Diagnosis....calf strain / tear. So. I am being good and not running..
First open water swim with Team Endure last weekend sent well.. Good swim and then followed by a23 mile ride and the leg held up pretty well. So at this point, looks like I am either doing the sprint triathlon and walking the run portion or the Olympic Distance Aqua Bike (swim and bike only).. Masters Modification''

Year number 9.... The challenge to raise money for Oregon Cancer Foundation for direct supports and services to Cancer Patients in the local Willamette Valley. This will be my 9th year training with an amazing group of people around the shared goal of making life a little easier for patients with cancer... We will again be training together, Swim, Bike, Run towards the goal of completion of the Olympic Distance Triathlon at Pacific Crest Endurance Sports weekend the end of June 2018.. Please assist me in supporting this important mission. Every little donation makes a huge difference.
