$135,000 goal

Economically disadvantaged schoolchildren face a critical need for school supplies in 2021, as the COVID-19 pandemic continues into the second year. The Jerry Doliner Food Bank is seeing so many local families needing assistance and we know if families cannot afford groceries, they certainly can't afford school supplies.

The Social Service Council of the Jewish Federation wants to ensure every child has the tools that they need to learn and excel in the classroom. That's why this will be our 26th year of providing backpacks filled with school supplies for local needy students in elementary, middle and high school. Since 1996, we have provided more than 124,000 of these backpacks.

Each year, we work with the counselors at schools in Volusia and Flagler Counties to identify the number of students whose families cannot afford school supplies  because they know best who is in need. We will deliver the backpacks to the schools in early August 2021 before the start of the 2021-22 school year.

Please consider donating today. We purchase high-quality backpacks filled with school supplies at a wholesale price of $25 each, when they would retail for $80. Best of all, 100% of your donation goes directly to purchase school supplies because the Jewish Federation of Volusia & Flagler Counties pays all administrative expenses.
