Our Clubs are more than just a safe place for youth to go when they aren't in school;  it's a life-line where they learn, grow, and thrive.

The mission of Boys & Girls Clubs of Middle Tennessee (BGCMT) is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, and responsible citizens.

We strive to achieve our mission each day by helping all young people succeed through curriculum-based, targeted programs with three key focus areas: academic success, healthy lifestyles, and good character & citizenship.

Youth Need You Now More Than Ever.

This year has been hard on our youth and our communities. After the March 2020 tornadoes ripped through Middle Tennessee, many of our families were left without power, food, or even shelter. BGCMT was there to provide healthy meals, access to electricity, and connection to wraparound services.

When the COVID-19 pandemic hit Middle Tennessee, BGCMT provided our families with adequate food, academic resources, and social emotional guidance through uncertain times. We launched a virtual Club with 4,300 minutes of content to prevent learning loss, delivered 13,300 healthy snacks and meal packages, and celebrated 481 birthdays virtually so our young people knew they were never alone.

We face unprecedented challenges in making sure our Club members have everything they need as they return to school. Many children and teens are at risk of falling behind or dropping out due to lack of support. In a recent survey, 34% of our youth indicated they do not have the technology nor internet connectivity at home to complete their school work. Other vital and consistent needs include:

•         adequate food and healthy snacks
•         social emotional guidance
•         school supplies
•         life mentorship
•         tutoring and academic supplements

No matter the classroom format this year, our youth need your support on the road to academic success during this global pandemic. Additionally, their parents need your help! When our community shut down to protect our most vulnerable, we welcomed 267 youth, 47% of whom were children of essential workers, to reverse learning loss due to school closures, address food insecurity, and provide social emotional support as our youth navigate the complex issues of this year.

BGCMT serves young people who need us most. We change young people’s lives, their trajectories, through our youth development programs by positively influencing their attitudes, behaviors, and knowledge.

Over 54% of alumni said the Clubs saved their lives.
