Ellen’s 60th Birthday Sundance Fundraiser

For my 60th birthday this month, I am raising funds for the  Sundance Association of Country-Western Dancing.

Sundance is in a competition for the most “unique donors” to contribute between June 1 and June 30 through the Horizons Foundation Give OUT Day portal. Your $10 gift will help Sundance vie for up to $10,000 in additional grant funding, which is desperately needed to help counter losses from the COVID-19 pandemic.

And for my 60th birthday, if Sundance raises at least $2,200 during June, I will contribute $1,100 and have my employer match that amount to raise $4,400 for Sundance!

I know there are many non-profits that need funds right now and many people cannot afford to give. However, if you are able to make a small or large donation, it would help Sundance enormously.

Like many nonprofit organizations, Sundance is expecting to take a significant financial hit this year due to the loss of its primary source of income from the closure of Sundance Saloon. Still, Sundance continues to serve the community through weekly live-stream lessons and other community-building projects.

Sundance is amazing for so many obvious reasons. And Sundance also has a special place in my heart because it is the place where I met my partner, Tamar nine years ago. So with lots of gratitude, I want to help raise funds for Sundance during this challenging time.

P.S.  Unique donors should have different last names and email addresses and different credit cards as well. Note that this means two $10 donations from different people will be more valuable to Sundance than one $20 donation.
