In memory of Elvis Roe, helping senior and special needs animals.

$3,500 goal

I adopted Elvis in September 2007. He was then 4 1/2 years old, and I was his third home in a year.   Elvis lived to be nearly 17 years old!  During our more than 12 years together, Elvis went deaf, then mostly blind.  He was also a miraculous 6+-year survivor of canine heart disease.  We were lucky enough to be able to afford and manage excellent veterinary care, but not everyone is so fortunate.

Many senior and special needs animals end up in shelters or with rescue organizations because their families cannot afford or manage their care.  The Elvis Fund will provide for these animals cared for by the Lost Dog and Cat Rescue Foundation, a local animal rescue in the DC Area.  LDCRF does incredible work for animals in our area, often taking on animals with special needs, pulling them from shelters and getting them veterinary care and fantastic fur-ever homes!

Elvis was an incredible blessing in my life, and his longevity, tenacity and unflappable sweetness in the face of it all touched many lives.  I am proud to be raising these funds in his memory and as a testament to our extraordinary bond.
