Running to support the compassionate hospice care of Living Room in Kenya!

$625

$500 goal

In Swahili, the word harambee means "let's come together."  For the sake of those in Kenya who desperately need hospice care, this is what Team Living Room is all about. We are coming together to run, to create awareness, and to raise funds.

The idea for Team Living Room came because Kenyans, who are undeniably the best runners in the world, wanted to use their talents to create a run to fundraise for Living Room's Kimbilio Hospice. On October 4th, in honor of World Hospice Day, the Kimbilio Hospice Run will be held in Kenya. In support of the Kenyans, we've decided to run with (or at least behind) them.

Like the meaning of its name, Kimbilio Hospice is "a place to run to" for those sick and dying in Kenya who are in dire need of care. The hospice has lived up to its name.  It is worth running for and worth giving to!

Will you make a donation?

  • $20 provides a day of complete care for a patient at Kimbilio Hospice.
  • $40 monthly provides a uniform, room, board and medical care for an orphan to attend school.
  • $140 enables a cancer patient to receive food, medical treatment and 24-hour palliative care for a full week.
  • $200 covers funeral costs and bereavement services for a needy family.
  • $500 provides a full month of care for a malnourished orphan.

Your donation does make a difference: it will help to replace suffering with hope in Kenya and encourage the runners to make it to the finish line! Thank you.
