Proceeds from your donation will go towards Albert Lea's selected local hunger relief charity: Grace Lutheran Earmark Backpack Program.
The program is entirely funded by donations and grants, so every gift matters, no matter the size.
ABOUT: The Food for Backpacks program launched in 2017 with 33 students at one elementary school, after learning that there were children at the nearby school who were in need of food. Today, funded by donations and grants, the program feeds more than 560 children in the Albert Lea School Distract each week in partnership with area churches and the district.
IMPACT: The program has grown to include preschool, elementary, and middle school students across the Albert Lea School District. Each student's backpack is filled with a food packet for the weekend, including 2 breakfasts, 2 snacks, and 2 dinners. Meal preparation is very minimal, and the foods are healthy!
