Help children experience authentic 19th century Christmas traditions on Children’s Day at the Victorian Christmas Stroll, Sunday, December 15, 2019!
The merriment begins at 10 am. With your support, children will enjoy story time in the historic Writing & Reading Room; creating paper ornaments or cigar box Zen gardens; model train demonstrations; writing letters to Santa; building with vintage Lincoln Logs and playing with toy trains; typewriter demonstrations; live musical, dramatic and puppetry performances; and carriage rides through Plant Park.
Your generosity will make it possible for the Museum to offer this full day of authentic Victorian experiences just for youth.
Research shows that exposure to arts and culture at a young age has positive long-term benefits. Children’s Day includes two live theater shows, “The Gingerbread Man” by Bits N Pieces Puppet Theater, instrumental music by a Tampa Metropolitan Youth Orchestra quartet, and vocal performances from Ovation! Most of these performances are followed by Q & A, giving youth the opportunity to engage with the performers. Will you invest in the cultural health of youth?
