My 40th birthday is this March 17th and to celebrate, I will be running the United Airlines NYC Half Marathon to raise money for Harboring Hearts! Harboring Hearts is a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing emergency housing, transportation, food and other critical resources to heart / liver transplant and cardiac surgery patients and their families.
I’ve been an active supporter of Harboring Hearts for the past 15+ years and have recently joined the junior board. Their mission became even more personal for me after my father had cardiac surgery in 2012 due a congenital heart issue that became more serious as he aged. Thankfully, he has fully recovered from his heart surgery.
Every donation to my run will be donated directly to Harboring Hearts to support patients, families and caregivers who are facing financial hardship associated with heart transplant, liver transplant and cardiothoracic surgery. Every donation, large or small, is sure to have an impact on a patient and his / her family.
