Eugenia Roche
Transplant Type: Heart
Eugenia Roche has received a second chance at life! Eugenia was diagnosed with cardiomyopathy secondary to chemotherapy and radiation for the treatment of Hodgkin’s lymphoma. Her health declined until she was transferred via air ambulance from Miami to Pittsburg for treatment. Within two weeks, she was placed on the transplant list. Thankfully, Eugenia received her gift of life on September 6, 2018. Despite the success of her transplant, Eugenia is now on dialysis, which takes a toll on her quality of life.
Eugenia is so grateful for the support of her husband, Orlando, their children, family and friends who have all been by her every step of the way. She looks forward to recovering fully from her transplant so that she can be active and live life with as few limitations as possible, but right now, she needs your help.
Unfortunately, Eugenia’s hope for a new life comes at a very high price.
Although the costs of the surgery itself are no longer an issue, she still faces significant medical expenses related to the surgery. She will need a lifetime of follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications. These medications are very costly, and they’re as important to her survival as the transplant itself.
Eugenia and her husband have had to temporarily relocate to Pittsburgh for more than 7 months. Even after she is able to return home, Eugenia and her husband will need to return to Pittsburg every 2 months for follow-up visits and doctor’s appointments adding to the financial strain.
You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to NFT in honor of Eugenia. If you'd prefer to send your gift by mail, please send it to the NFT Florida Transplant Fund, 3249 W. Sarazens Circle, Suite 100, Memphis, TN 38125. Please be sure to write "in honor of Eugenia Roche" on the memo line.
Thank you for your generosity!
