Our core program is a week-long overnight camp where our campers from age 8-11 can be “regular kids,” combined with self-esteem training in a supportive environment, allowing youth to explore new activities, learn new skills and develop self-confidence. Our daily self-esteem class teaches youth key skills they will need to grow into healthy, productive adults, parents, and citizens. In class, youth learn things like self-awareness, anger management, personal safety, appropriate boundaries, and self-control.

For older youth, Leadership Development Program (LDP) is where we focus on peer-to-peer interaction, life skills, and continuity of relationships during weekend retreats, Service Project Saturdays, and Life Skills Events. LDP serves campers aged 12-18. We are dedicated to preparing our youth with the skills and relationships they will need to manage the process of aging out offoster care at 18.

In addition, we hold quarterly events to stay connected with the children. Camp Horizon provides asafe place for them to grow and be loved while providing “family” and connections that are oftenmissing in their lives.

By supporting our non-profit, you are enabling children, teens and young adults to receive year-round programming that restores dignity and hope. For many, all they know is a life of abuse and neglect, and yet we are able to empower them to make good decisions and lead healthy, productivelives.

The unconditional love and support they receive from trusted adults at Camp Horizon help semotionally wounded children grow into healthy adults. This allows them to break the cycle of abuse in their own lives and prepare them to prevent abuse in the lives of those around them.
