Listener and staff members of Pacifica radio stations who have been disenfranchised in the current elections process under the Bylaws imposed without required member approval, along with numerous candidates who have been unjustly kept off or taken off the ballot without proper cause, are seeking funds to move forward with a legal effort to obtain a temporary restraining order (TRO) to prevent the elections from going forward until the disenfranchisement, lack of sufficient notice and education for listeners and staff, and other errors in the nomination process can be corrected.
Ballots are due to be distributed on August 15, which would cement these irregularities and injustices; $15,000 are needed in the next week to 10 days to take effective legal action, with an additional sum of $10,000 needed to proceed further later.
If you too value free speech radio and fair elections, oppose voter suppression in Pacifica or the larger society, and support equity, diversity and inclusivity, please donate generously now.
All donations will be used exclusively to fund a request for a temporary restraining order due to election irregularities.
