First Step Staffing's vision is to becoming America’s jobs solution to homelessness.  Our mission is to end homelessness by assisting vulnerable populations with securing income sufficient to obtain and maintain housing.  First Step Staffing is a 501C3 that uses an alternative staffing model to provide individuals who are homeless, citizens returning from prison and veterans, with immediate employment.  Our offices are located in areas  easily accessible by foot to our target population. The process starts with an application and an assessment by job coaches. Coaches match individuals to the right employment opportunity. First Step also provides transportation to and from the job. 

At First Step we recognize that, for the individuals we serve, a job is so much more than just income.   It is sense of security, a source of socialization and a contributor to self-esteem.  It is the first step on a new life path. Simply put the intended outcomes of First Step’s income first approach and Step-Up are to remove the barriers to employment and facilitate the self-sufficiency necessary for lasting success.
