Heartworms Are Slowly Killing Poor Fawn

Poor Fawn is very sick. At only 6 months old, this young hound mix has found herself in a very sad situation. Fawn was rescued from life as a stray in rural VA. She had been likely scrounging for food and water for weeks, or longer. Fawn's body was in rough shape when she arrived at the shelter, but bloodwork found that her condition was even worse than originally thought. Fawn tested positive for having heartworms, which can be fatal without proper treatment. The shelter is not equipped to provide that treatment, but Homeward Trails heard about this puppy and wants to help save her. Heartworm treatment isn't cheap, but it so worth it when a dog can get healthy and live out a long and wonderful life. Fawn deserves all the help she can get.
