His right lower foreleg is shattered and bullet fragments are embedded in the tissue. Unfortunately, the damage is beyond repair, and it is necessary to remove his leg.
After he was injured, the young woman who owned Flash was prevented from seeking medical care for him by her boyfriend. However, she knew she had to do something to help him, so she posted Flash’s story on Facebook. When we became aware of Flash’s need for immediate and extensive medical care, we reached out and told her we could take care of his medical needs and also find him a new home that would keep him safe and loved.
His owner drove him all the way from Mexico, MO to our Admissions and Medical Services Campus in Murphysboro, IL. to personally surrender him to us. There are many reasons why owners surrender their pets to Wright-Way Rescue. Sometimes those reasons are heartbreaking, as in Flash’s case.
When he first arrived at the shetler, Flash was shy, but he has since made friends with our staff. He is a smiley dog who loves to eat biscuits and go for walks in the grassy areas of our campus.
