#GivingTuesdayNow was created in response to the vast need created by the COVID-19 pandemic. Organizations around the world are working to help their communities get through this challenging time.

SustainFloyd is responsible for the funding and maintenance of the Floyd Farmers Market. We have been working hard to adapt to the current situation, and continue to provide healthy, local, nourishing food to our community from our vital network of local farmers.  We’re doing everything we can to build a strong local food system that empowers farmers, protects the environment, and improves your family’s access to good food.

Normally our market is sustained by local business sponsorship, support from donors and weekly fees from our vendors. Small businesses are struggling themselves, and are unable to offer sponsorship. To meet current regulations we have had to limit the number of on-site vendors, so our income from vendor fees is substantially reduced. Meanwhile fixed costs to keep the Market running remain the same.

Many of our vendors are unable to have a table under current guidelines. To support them, we are offering online ordering and curb-side pick up options to help them get their products to market.

The Floyd Farmers Market is an essential source of healthy, local fresh produce, meat,  eggs, and bread. Our market is the only local venue where EBT users can match their dollars, thereby giving them access to locally grown/raised products.
