Hello PAWS supporters. We would like to tell you a story about a very special PAWS pup named Po. Po was surrendered to us by her owner who, because of their homeless situation, was unable to take care of her any longer. This loving committed owner had to make a difficult and selfless decision about what was best for Po. After being surrendered to PAWS, Po’s necessary care and shelter became our priority.

After a life on the streets with her past owner, Po has had a difficult time adjusting to her new confined kennel environment. She became distant, reactive, and always on edge. Because of her demeanor, Po’s stay with us has been much longer than any of us wanted or expected, but our committed and loving staff knew there was something special about Po and weren’t about to give up on her.

Don (who has been with Paws for 17 years!) along with Emily, two of our dedicated staff members have been working with Po daily under the guidance of the wonderful Molly Jeane. We are all amazed and delighted with the progress Po has made. She now loves playing in the yard, going on car rides (especially if the trip involves a “Pup Cup”) and just being a dog.

Unfortunately, this is where Po’s recovery story takes a sad turn. Po was recently diagnosed with two torn ACLs and will need a double TPLO surgery. The wonderful team at PawsCo has generously offered to assist in finding a foster home where she can safely and comfortably heal post-surgery……BUT NOW WE AND PO NEED YOUR HELP!

This type of surgery is costly, and we are facing a minimum surgical expense of $5000.00 plus post-operative care. PAWS is a non-profit organization and relies solely on the donations of our generous supporters in order to care for dogs like Po.  Please consider donating to help Po get the surgery she needs. Po deserves a second chance at a happy life and with your help, we can make that happen!
