A Little Bit About Fozzy...

   Hello! Let us start by saying thank you for your time and reading our letter. Now, let’s introduce you to our wonderful son, Fozzy! He loves fidget spinners, Hot Wheels cars & trucks, pillow fights and cuddling. :) After noticing that his legs weren’t functioning properly, and an MRI, our doctor told us that he was born with a spinal cord anomaly and tethered spinal cord, thus, preventing him from the use of his legs. Fozzy underwent major surgery successfully, however, his journey towards being able to walk is only beginning.

   This is our personal invitation to you, as we ask for your help, in the hopes of getting our boy his own Mobility Assistance Service Dog from 4 Paws For Ability.

   Even throughout physical, occupational and speech therapies, plus early intervention services, our brave son continues to persevere. Now, at 2 years young, Fozzy has received his first wheelchair. When he is in his throne, rarely can he be seen without a smile. Fozzy‘s hard work, drive and dedication demonstrate just how big his heart and his will to succeed are. Our physical therapist has suggested a service dog to help guide our son along his journey to mobility. Not just a dog, but a constant companion that can be there to help him if he falls from his chair, retrieve items for him, and aid in many more physical aspects along his special journey.

   4 Paws For Ability was recommended to us, and we are now on our way to introducing our son to his new best friend. The costs to train a service dog to our son’s necessary requirements are quite substantial at $40,000-$60,000. 4 Paws asks that we help with $17,000 of that cost. We will not stop until we reach this goal, as Fozzy has taught us time and time again to keep pushing forward! We believe a service dog & furry friend will be life changing for Fozzy.

   Please remember that every single donation counts toward our goal! We understand if you cannot donate now, but please consider helping us when the time may be right for you. Most important, the best thing you can do for our family is keep us in your prayers. We are navigating our challenges in life and will always find the right path with God as our Guide.
