Whether it's making someone smile, helping a neighbor out, or showing up for people you care about, we each have something to contribute to make the world a better place. And when that something is unexpected, as it was when a FRA teacher recently sent Sun Lusk, our administrative assistant, a "Caught Being Kind" message, it's all the more powerful.
Each day at FRA, we bear witness to the power of kindness. It's the teacher who provides that extra dose of encouragement to a child in need; it's family participation in our school's recycling program to show kindness to Mother Earth; it's our school community who supported our efforts to make over 1000 face shields for our frontline workers; it's alumni who give back to our school by becoming Board members; it's Middle School students selling Boo Grams at Halloween to support the Sojourner Truth House; it's 175 FRA students participating together in a day of community service as an alternative to December holiday parties; it's the kindness and generosity of our FRA community who share their time, talent, and treasure at school.
As we begin the season of thanks, we are especially grateful for your acts of kindness that help us keep the FRA community vibrant and strong.
This November 30, Forest Ridge will once again participate in GIVINGTUESDAY, an international day of giving. What makes this appeal so powerful is that those who participate feel they are actively engaged in building and strengthening our community.
Throughout the month, you will learn more about the power--and impact--of kindness throughout our school. I hope you will be inspired as we are.
