The Capital City Museum is located at 325 Ann Street in downtown Frankfort, Kentucky. The museum is open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and is operated by the City of Frankfort, Department of Parks, Recreation & Historic Sites. Admission is free. The Capital City Museum features exhibits about many aspects of Frankfort history, including local businesses and industries, famous Frankfort-made bait-casting fishing reels, the Kentucky River, the assassination of Kentucky Governor William Goebel, Kentucky state government and politics, childhood and education in Frankfort, bourbon whiskey distilling, Frankfort's connection with the movies, local military veterans, and a great deal more.
