Give 8/28 builds on the momentum created by Black Philanthropy Month and celebrates the collective community’s enthusiasm to plant seeds in Black futures.

What’s the significance of August 28th (8/28)?

Glad you asked. Several life-changing events in Black history took place on August 28th. Just to name a few:

• Martin Luther King - I Have A Dream Speech – 1963
• John Lewis, We Must Free Ourselves Speech - 1963
• March on Washington - 1963

So why should I give to SciTech2U on August 28, 2021?

Founded in 2011 in Montgomery County, MD, SciTech2U, is a 501(c)(3), non-profit organization established to nurture future scientists by providing high-quality, creative,  after-school scientific instruction and activities to underrepresented youth, in grades K-12.

We believe that every child deserves access to high-quality and innovative learning opportunities including some Black and Hispanic youth who struggle in achieving proficiency in math and English. That is why we look to supporters, like you, to make our programs accessible to all of our youth, regardless of racial systemic barriers they encounter.
