The Goosenest Ranger District's YCC program had a busy year! Your kind donations will provide these young people with valuable life and leadership skills, confidence building, and connecting them with inspiring mentors who can expose them to different perspectives and ideas..
Some of the activities from this year included:
*Collecting, cleaning and making seed balls to restore burned areas
*Touring a timber harvest operation
*Conducting native bumblebee surveys
*Repairing guzzlers, replacing troughs and repairing fencing
* Aquatic weed surveys
*Plant identification and ethnobotany
*Juniper tree measurements
*Wild hawk banding
* Noxious weed removal from The Modoc Nation Ranch
* Campground cleanup
* Goosenest Trail reconnaissance
* Community Service through landscape and cleanup at places like the MacDoel Wayside Park, and the Butte Valley Community Center
* Attended the Cal Deer Annual Banquet
* Field Trips to The Lava Beds, The Klamath County Museum, Herd Peak Lookout and the Antelope Burn.
