I was invited to participate in a documentary that involves two of our six campaigns, specifically the Huntley Power Plant ,which also involves Just Transitions and Tonawanda Tomorrow, and Tonawanda Coke. This production is under the auspices of the Earth Institute, Columbia University.  I was asked to provide a short bio. on my work with these campaigns over the past few years. I thought I would share this with you as this is a good reflection on why Clean Air is so important to me. No wonders I don’t have much free time.

“Stuff About Me: I have been intimately involved with the Huntley Power Plant, which includes Just Transitions, and Tonawanda Tomorrow, and the Tonawanda Coke fiasco. This includes: meetings with the Commissioner and staff of the DEC (two times), a meeting with representatives of Honeywell and Jon Williams, the editorial board of the Buffalo News, and local, state and federal politicians. I've also had the opportunity to attend some legislative and court proceedings. I've helped plan and conduct a number of public meetings, participated in a petition drive, and wrote articles (Another Voice and Letters to the Editor) in the Buffalo News. I've also contributed to blogs for Clean Air. In the process of doing these things, I've attended numerous meetings to strategize and plan our activities. I've spent countless hours doing research. Can you tell I'm retired (Social Studies teacher)? I've tried to ensure Tonawanda Tomorrow is implemented and that the Huntley property is properly remediated and developed along the lines of environmental justice avenues. We've broken new ground with the DEC's agreement to  Clean Air's initiative to create a Community Advisory Group (Tonawanda Coke Working Group).”

If you’re not convinced of my dedication to Clean Air, I might suggest that the above doesn’t include my work with the Membership Committee, this Might Cause Campaign, and ad hoc groups involved with anti-racism in our communities and society in general.

I will greatly appreciate it if you can support this work of the dedicated and talented staff and volunteers at Clean Air. There is much to do and we at Clean Air are experienced and energized enough to take on these and other challenges.
