Gary Jones
Transplant Type - Kidney
Update: Gary received a kidney transplan on April 18, 2018!
In high school, Gary learned he was suffering from high blood pressure, and he was diagnosed with IgA nephropathy in 2006. His diagnosis came as quite a shock, as there is no known family history of kidney issues, but doctors say a kidney transplant is essential. Despite the fact that he has some good days and some bad, Gary continues to work full time; but he has had to cut back on some of his favorite activities because of the fatigue he often experiences. He can no longer run, bike or walk for as long as he’d like, but he pushes himself to stay active. He looks forward to the transplant that will give him more energy and allow him to lead a more fulfilling life. But right now, he needs your help.
The average kidney transplant costs approximately $335,000. And that’s only the beginning. Even with health insurance, which will cover a portion of the transplant costs, he faces significant expenses related to the surgery. For the rest of his life, he will need follow-up care and daily anti-rejection medications. Post-transplant medications are very expensive, and they’re as critical to his survival as the transplant itself.
You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to NFT in honor of Gary. If you'd prefer to send your gift by mail, please send it to the NFT Pennsylvania Transplant Fund, 3249 W. Sarazens Circle, Suite 100, Memphis, TN 38125. Please be sure to write "in honor of Gary Jones" on the memo line.
