I created this fundraiser to help raise money for more research about Gastroparesis.

$1,365

raised by 23 people

$5,000 goal

I was diagnosed with mild Gastroparesis sometime in 2008.  I have been living with this condition going on nine years now.  And my condition is worsening.  At this point in time there is no known cure for Gastroparesis (which is paralysis of the stomach muscles).  This basically means when you try to eat, your food just sits in your stomach causeing severe and painful bloating, vomiting, nausea and several other symtoms.

This condition quckly turns your life upside down.  You are no longer the person that your were before.  It is a conditon that is very isolating because it is an invisible chronic illness.  It is also not a pretty illness and no one likes to talk about it.

My life is no longer the same, I am not the person I was before I got sick.  This is my second bad bout with Gastroparesis in addition to struggling with with it every day of my life.  I have two goals that are very important to me at this time:

1)  To raise awareness about this life altering conditon which I am doing through my Facebook Group Gastroparesis:  Day by Day.

2)  To raise money for more research about this conditon.

I would like to see a cure for future generations, or at least a way to have a truly functional lifestyle if you are diagnosed with Gastroparesis.

Thank you for taking the time to read and for your donation.
