This holiday season, give a friend or family member the gift of stewarding a greener city. Your gift will help grow kid-driven, urban gardens and provide your loved one with a connection to community and nature. Select one of our Gift a Garden donation options* below!
Here's how to make your donation into a earth-loving holiday gift:
1. Read through the nifty gift options below.
2. Select "Donate," then on the next page select "one time" donation.
3. Check the box "Add a Dedication" then put in your gift recipient's name and contact information. Use their email address if you want them to receive a PDF version of our Gift a Garden certificate, or mailing address to send a physical postcard.
Our Gift a Garden options include...
$500 - Vegetable Garden Raised Bed:
Help grow a bed of veggies with a $500 gift! We build our raised beds using chemical-free cedar, fill them with organic compost and mulch, and use them to grow vegetables and herbs of every variety. A raised bed built in a school or neighborhood garden lasts 3-5 years, so your gift has a long term impact. Take joy in knowing you helped green an 8x4 foot space that will serve as an educational tool for gardeners of all ages!
Donors choosing this gift will be offered the opportunity to receive a private tour and experience in one our gardens next spring, led by the City Blossoms Executive Director!
$250 - Nature-Themed “Mini Library”:
Give the gift of cultivating literacy and an appreciation of the natural world. City Blossoms compiles “mini libraries” of multicultural gardening and nature-themed children’s books. Our teacher and early childhood educator partners receive 25 books per library. Some examples include: Cora Cooks Pancit, Maybe Something Beautiful, Llamame Arbol.
$100 - Pollinator Plants:
Who doesn’t love bees? When they’re pollinating, of course. Did you know that one out of every three bites of food exist thanks to pollinators? Help create a haven in the city for the insects and birds that provide this critical resource to our food chain. $100 covers the cost of five large perennial pollinator plants such as goldenrod, bee balm, joe pye weed, coreopsis, and lavender.
$50 - Early Childhood Container Herb Garden:
Help create mini-plant worlds for our youngest learners. Herb gardens are great for engaging the senses of young children. Rosemary, lambs ear, mint are all included in our herb container gardens to give toddlers a fun experience smelling, touching, and tasting the natural world.
*Gift a Garden is part of City Blossoms' 2020 Harvest Campaign. Your donation will support City Blossoms' general operations and programs. The above designations are examples of how your donation at that level could support our work.
