Provide support for the immediate needs of our communities in Haiti

$507

raised by 12 people

$800 goal

On March 20th, the President of Haiti announced a number of measures to slow the spread of COVID-19 in Haiti, including that its borders, ports, and airports will be closed, and commercial flights will be suspended.

Our flight to Haiti was cancelled due to the President’s order and we were not able to visit our communities in April, after not seeing them for over a year.

We are fortunate that we are able to maintain communication with the leaders of our two communities, Sonyen and Deluge, in order to continue our work.

In addition to the airports being closed, universities, schools, businesses and places of worship have been ordered to remain closed until further notice.

Our youth are out of school once again, but we have modified our efforts to meet the needs of our students. We have been able to hire teachers so that our youth can continue to receive a quality education.

Our goal for #GivingTuesdayNow is to meet the immediate needs of our community members by supporting the education of our students while they are out of school, and providing food and resources for our communities in need.

Our community leaders have expressed the need for items to help combat the spread of illnesses such as soap, bleach, masks, hand towels and buckets with a tap to wash their hands (pictured on the left).

Today, you can provide support for the immediate needs of our communities in Haiti.

Any amount of support helps during this time.

Our communities appreciate you and your generosity.
