Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

I’m Jonah and I’ve been playing lacrosse for 4 years. My sister and I have an amazing opportunity to represent the state of Israel on the lacrosse field in international lacrosse competitions.  I have two passions: lacrosse and Judaism. Trying out for the Israel National Team will allow me to bring them together. When my dad told me that I had the opportunity to try out for the Israel National team, I couldn’t believe it.

It sounds like a once in a lifetime experience. It would be so cool to play for Team Israel. Even if I don’t make the team, it would still be an amazing experience to play lacrosse, meet new people, and show my passion for Israel. Last summer, my family and I went to Israel, and right after we came home, the world championships for lacrosse was hosted in Israel.

I thought it was really cool that Israel was hosting such a big event. I loved Israel and I can’t wait to go back – hopefully for the Israel lacrosse Winter Service program when I’m in high school.

I will join the U13 Training/Tryout Camp in May, and if I make the team, I will play in the World Series of Youth Lacrosse as part of the Israel National team in July.

Hi everyone,

I’m Adina. Jonah is my twin brother and we have been playing lacrosse together for many years. We have been brought up in a strong Jewish community. We recently became B’nai Mitzvah last year. It was such an amazing experience to become a role model in my community.

The previous summer we traveled to Israel where I was fortunate enough to connect with my Judaism even more. On the trip, we brought with us, you guessed it, our lacrosse sticks. Lacrosse is my favorite sport and it is one part of my life. Being a Jew is a completely separate part of my life. When I heard I might have the opportunity to bring them together, I was so excited. In Sunday School, we are taught that Israel was the Promised Land and it’s just something that I marvel over. Now I might have the opportunity to play on the Israel National Team. I don’t really know how to phrase it, but I would get to represent Israel as a lacrosse player.

On the lacrosse field, one of my favorite positions to play is goalie, followed by mid field, then defense, and I also enjoy playing attack. Really, anywhere my coaches want to put me, I will play it. Right now, my weekends are busy rushing between being on time for my team on the lacrosse field and being on time at synagogue to celebrate the Bar and Bat Mitzvahs of my Jewish friends. Bringing these two parts of my life together feels like a huge opportunity and honor.  I have been accepted onto the U15 Girl’s Israel National Team and will be competing in the Federation of International Lacrosse (FIL) Girl’s World Lacrosse Festival this August.

Thank you for supporting our dream to play for Israel!
