Great Scott is sufffering from Heartworm!

Scott is a 7 year old Beagle who has had a rough life. He was likely an outdoor dog who was neglected before he found himself in a rural shelter partner. He is a bit shy inside but learning the ropes in his loving home. He's friendly with all people but shy. He unfortunately contracted Heartworm while he was living on his own and still needs to have this treated.

Heartworm disease is a serious and potentially fatal disease in pets in the United States and many other parts of the world. It is caused by foot-long worms (heartworms) that live in the heart, lungs and associated blood vessels of affected pets, causing severe lung disease, heart failure and damage to other organs in the body.  Please help this poor puppy!
