Urban Corps of San Diego County is a certified local conservation corps whose mission is to provide young adults with the tools to expand their career opportunities through education, life skills training, and paid work experience on projects that benefit our communities.
We provide a second chance at a high school education and paid job training designed to encourage civic engagement, responsibility, and self-sufficiency.
Wrap around services for Corpsmembers include providing (case by case) emergency food, shelter, medication and clothing and drivers licenses and certifications in preparation for graduation and job placement, as needed to support the success of our student, to break down barriers to success that existed before and give them one that they need to be successful the second time around.
On average, each student will receive around $400 in supportive, wrap-around services. $5,000 from this campaign will provide 80 students what they need for the rest of the school year, all the way to graduation!
