Guatemala Mission Trip 2016

Stores slowly begin to replace the summer cookout isle with the fall decor. Flowers and grass turn to pumpkins and corn stalks. The air grows cooler and the leaves begin to change. November comes and so does the turkey dinner that invites lots of love for your family celebration. This is fall & this is Thanksgiving.

But this year will be different. In fact, it will be more!

When you've been sharing holidays like this all along, it is difficult to think of what it would be like without a mom, dad, sister, brother, son, or daughter to share the special moments with. The surreal truth is that these memories that mean so much may be so lonely for others.

This is why my Thanksgiving Holiday will be spent in Guatemala with girls who are without a family. Even though pilgrim-themed hats and dry stuffing mean nothing to them, they have their own heartwarming moments that deserved to be shared with people that love them.

In fact, the day we arrive in Guatemala, our first stop is to attend a Quinceanera for a young girl turning 15. What an honor it will be to help this woman celebrate growing up and all that God has given her!

I do not know what each day will look like and I do not yet know how I will be put to use on this trip. But I do know that God has a plan and a reason for sending me (spontaneously I might add) to this country in Central America.

So I ask that you join me on this journey. Please donate so that my tickets, housing, and food are taken care of. Please pray that the team and I are God's hands and feet to serve His sons and daughters, that we may have endless energy and love to give to these girls, and that our hearts will be softened and our beliefs made stronger than ever!
