AHHS has been flooded with emergency and seizure cases over the past week and we need your help.

$5,722

$10,000 goal

When it rains it pours and this has been true for Almost Home over the past week.  Today, we need to ask for your help with two serious cases that have been brought to Almost Home.  When we ask for your help, we always like to be able to share a photo so that you can see the pet that so desperately needs your help.

Unfortunately, today's request is for pets whose photos we can't currently share because they are part of animal cruelty cases.  When our local animal control officers seize pets that have experienced neglect and cruelty, those pets come to AHHS for treatment.

What I can tell you, is that AHHS does its best to save every pet that is able to be treated and we want to help every pet that needs us.  Our first pet that needs your help is a sweet, older girl with serious injuries that require surgery at the Purdue Small Animal Clinic.  They are currently keeping her as comfortable as possible and her surgery is scheduled for tomorrow, but the estimate to help this lady heal is $7,000.

We wish we could tell you she is our only pet in need, but she was part of a seizure of 4 pets and two others also required more minor medical treatment.  We are committed to helping her (and her friends) get the treatment they need but we desperately need your help to help us reach our goal and raise the funds for treatment.

To make our situation even more difficult, yesterday we received more than 80 rabbits as part of a seizure.  We often have bunnies available for adoption, but rarely more than two or three at one time.  A group this large is stretching our resources and space and will also create another additional hit to our medical budget quickly.  We are currently working with our veterinarian and rabbit rescues to treat those that are sick and injured, spay or neuter all of them and figure out our best plan for placement, but we need your help.  Providing food, care and medical treatment for this many additional pets in need is going to be expensive.  We are estimating we will spend at least $3,000 in surgical supplies, food and care supplies for our bunnies in need.

Will you help?  Even though we are used to having many pets in need of our help at one time, this past week has been overwhelming.  We need your help and support to save the pets that need us.  Will you help us, help them?
