Handwarming Heroes Circle Makes a Difference!

Since 2010, Mittens for Detroit has collected and distributed more than 330,000 pairs of new mittens and gloves! The people who receive these pairs at their schools, shelters, veterans' facilities, food pantries, and the like are more comfortable every winter because people like you care about them.

We started our monthly donation club in August 2018, and as of June 2025, the Handwarming Heroes have contributed more than $32,700 in total donations. This amazing group has become an integral and important part of our sustainability and growth. It helped us during the Pandemic to have these expected donations come in at a time when our regular fundraising programs were at a halt. We are grateful and delighted by the enthusiastic participation and engagement that the Handwarming Heroes have demonstrated over the past seven years. They know that Mittens Matter!
