Jacki deserves better :(

From what we can tell, this sweet old girl was neglected and then dumped!! She was posted on a community Facebook page several days – and miles – apart. This poor sweet older pup had been wandering for days. She was severely matted to the extent that she was covered in her own urine and feces, covered in ticks, fleas, and burrs, she had a head tilt, and was having trouble walking and standing, and she was DRAGGING A CHAIN behind her – FOR MILES!!! 

Despite all of this Jacki (as sheis now named) still wagged her tail when a kind stranger approached her. It was clear she needed HELP!

Fortunately, the kind stranger/good Samaritan contacted us and we were able to get her to safety – and first job was to release her from those mats and get the parasites off of her (and that chain)! And to let her know that she was safe and loved.

We have started Jacki's vetting (no owner has come forward to claim her), but she has a number of tests pending and more are needed to help us figure out what her outcome will be and where she can go.  We will update as to what we find, but in the meantime, we are asking for help as her vet bills are already up to several hundred dollars, and we are looking at a lot more coming our way. 

Our goal is to get this girl as healthy as possible and into the best outcome we can find. Won't you help us help Jacki?
