Even After Being Abandoned, Henry Loves Everyone!

It is so hard to decided whether to start with the good news or the bad news when it comes to animal rescue.  The good news for Henry is that he is no longer roaming the streets of Puerto Rico after being abandoned.  He was actually saved because he was noticed by a local who saw him loving on children; giving them hugs and kisses.  They could just tell he was trying to beg them to save him.  The kids knew they had to get him help and luckily he was rescued from his life as a stray.  Unfortunately though, the very bad news is that he is heartworm positive.  While it isn't necessarily a death sentence with veterinary care, the treatment is extremely expensive and lengthy.  Henry is merely 2 years old and deserves to have a full, happy and healthy life.  Staying in Puerto Rico is not going to be the answer Henry is looking for.  He hopes someday that he will be adopted by a loving family and that he is cured of heartworms.  Adoptions in Puerto Rico are fairly low so without Homeward Trails' help, who knows what Henry's future will look like.  Between the expense of the flight and his medical care, Henry is keeping his paws crossed that we can raise enough money to cover his sponsorship fees.  Please help this guy's 2021 be his best year yet!
