Aug 28: Jack Starts Antibiotics!
Jack has begun his antibiotic regimen to prepare for his procedures. Fingers crossed we are able to raise the funds so he can have them 😬
Meet Jack!
Jack is a senior Jack Russel Terrier and just about the sweetest boy you’ll ever meet. He’s never met a stranger, loves to give attention as much as he loves getting it, and can always be seen with a big ol’ grin on his face as he struts his stuff walking down the neighborhood sidewalk. He’s really just a sweet, loving, good boy who has run into some bad luck and needs help to get better and live out his golden years comfortable and healthy.
Jack needs some help
He has an abscess directly under his left eye which he scratches at with any given opportunity. Obviously, it is impairing his vision. Also, the possibility of serious infection creates a concerning risk to his health as Jack has had a treat or two too many and potential medical complications greatly increase for overweight pups. Unfortunately, Jack also needs several teeth extracted to get him back in tip top shape.
What we need
His owners have made the difficult decision to surrender Jack to our rescue because, amongst other things, they understandably cannot afford the Vet bills. Truth be told, neither can we. However, we cannot say no to an animal in need. So, we are taking him in and taking on the effort to raise the money to get him the treatment he needs. The initial estimate from the Vet for the treatment is $1,600. Update: $1,200. He will also need some stiff antibiotics prior to the procedures. I am asking for $2,500 Update: $2,100 to cover all of the medical costs for Jack, the expected as well as the likely unexpected expenses over the original estimate. Additionally, the amount will cover the expenses while he is in foster care for however long he needs to recover then find his forever home. Should there be any excess, the funds will go to current foster homes to offset some of the significant out of pocket costs they take on for our foster dogs.
Who we are and how we can work together
We are a rescue, local in Pierce County, WA. We appreciate any and every donation received. We understand times are tough right now and anyone who chooses to give us a dollar of their hard earned money is such a hero in our books. It is difficult for us to ask for the help at this time due to the increasing hardship. But we have to in this circumstance to get him better. Not everyone can donate, we understand firsthand. Although, just about everyone can share, be it with social media or just telling an animal loving friend or family member who might share it as well. I cannot express our gratitude enough. Thank you, from Jack and his human team.
