Owner had too many dogs to take care of

Winky is a beautiful Shiba mix puppy who is ready to bring his whole heart to a new family! Despite the challenges of his 9 months of life, Winky is very resilient and continues to hope for his forever family. This handsome boy was surrendered by his former owner in southern VA, as they had too many dogs and were not able to care for all of them. Winky only knew life in a home, with lots of dog siblings he loved When he was surrendered to the shelter, things looked bleak, and Winky was surrounded by sights, smells and noises that were completely overwhelming. Winky couldn’t find his family anywhere and he was lost. However, we know that this lovely puppy is meant to have a home and we want to help him find it! He would make such a lovely addition to any family, and we are determined to get him to Homeward Trails where he will have much more exposure to potential families than in the shelter. We also want to give him the time to enjoy being a puppy without the additional stress of living in a shelter and higher risks of illness and infection at his age. Please help us help Winky find happiness again in a forever family!
