Hill Havurah Thanksgiving Fundraiser

Join Hill Havurah in our annual Tikkun Olam Thanksgiving -- as we collectively raise funds to help Everyone Home DC distribute gift cards to our neighbors to purchase Thanksgiving meals.

For years, Hill Havurah has shown up to donate Thanksgiving baskets to Capitol Hill neighbors in need, in partnership with Everyone Home DC.  This year, due to the pandemic and learnings from the community, Everyone Home DC will distribute grocery and debit gift cards to our community members, giving them the opportunity to celebrate Thanksgiving in a meaningful way.

Everyone Home DC introduced this new approach last year and it was met with gratitude from families, who appreciated the efficiency of the process and the ability to personalize their shopping experience. 

Everyone Home DC’s goal this year is to distribute a gift card to each family that works with Everyone Home DC, which means we need 150 $50 gift cards to distribute to families in advance of Thanksgiving. 

Hill Havurah would like to collect at least $2,000, providing 40 of those 200 gift cards! 

Monetary donations raised through this page will be used to purchase gift cards for Giant, Safeway, Harris Teeter, Walmart, Visa, or Mastercard. Everyone Home DC plans to begin distributing gift cards to families by mid-November.

If you prefer to purchase and send gift cards directly to Everyone Home DC, you can do so by mailing them to the address below. Please focus on gift cards that are Visa or Mastercard, or that are for Safeway, Giant, Harris Teeter, and please note that your gift is part of Hill Havurah’s collection.
