GPSN chooses to provide family voice, values the lived experience, and a peer workforce throughout Georgia. We are known for our Advocacy for Children and Youth, Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC), Street Outreach, and Youth M.O.V.E. programs that focus on holistic approaches to youth development.

Georgia Parent Support Network, Inc. is the state chapter of the Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health. We support and help the development of local federation chapters statewide. These local chapters are vital to local advocacy movements and the involvement of families and youth throughout Georgia Parent Support Network, Inc. (GPSN) is dedicated to providing support, education, and advocacy for children and youth with mental illness, emotional disturbances, and behavioral differences and their families. GPSN was founded in 1989 and is a 501(c)(3) non-profit statewide support and advocacy system. GPSN is dedicated to assisting parents and families by providing support, information, referrals, advocacy, training, group organizing, linkage with other parent organizations, and direct, community-based services. GPSN helps when children present behaviors at home, in school, and in other environments that are puzzling and/or difficult to handle.Georgia.

The Transitional Youth Peer Center is a unique program for at-risk youth staffed by peers who serve as mentors and team workers. These Peer Mentors are young adults ages 17 to 25 who are successfully navigating the path from adolescence to adulthood. They assist program participants who are trying to make the same transition by offering training and development in areas such as life skills, education, employment, and community life.

Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) is long-term, out-of-home placement for children who have already entered the custody of a state agency or who have state funding but are still with their biological family. These children often exhibit emotional and behavioral difficulties and are considered for TFC when less intensive forms of foster care would not meet the child's needs. The child is placed in the home of a trained TFC Provider who assumes the duties of caregiver for the length of time the child is placed within their home. GPSN organizes community-based services, support, and training to maintain the child in the community.

Giving Tuesday is an opportunity to support and help GPSN serve the community and care for those hurting.
