//3877, a local boutique design firm is teaming up with the Capital Area Food Bank(CAFB) to solve hunger and its companion problems: chronic undernutrition, heart disease and obesity. The CAFB is helping nearly half a million people each year get access to good, healthy food.
For over twenty-five years, Canstruction Competitions have brought together folks from all over the world to design and build giant structures made entirely from cans of food. All financial contributions made to our team will help purchase cans for construction that will later be donated to those in need.
This year, //3877 wants to kick hunger in the ass – and we want to do it in style. The theme for this year is taking us back to the 80s and we would like to remember the iconic shoe that changed things forever. The first Air Jordan shoe released in 1984, reminded us that we can dream to become anyone we want to be whether it be an all-star athlete, an architect, or maybe even a shoe designer. In more ways than one, this shoe symbolizes so much for so many.
In keeping with the theme, the ingredients used in the structure will also be used as a basis to compose a meal – fit for an athlete.
We kindly ask for donations of any amounts – big or small to assist in fundraising the CAFB. Those interested in making a contribution of $500 or more by Oct. 1st will be included in our 8’0” x 8‘0” Canstructure. Please help us spread the word about ending hunger in our community and donate today!
