Dear Irondale High School Alumni and Friends -
The global pandemic presents incredible challenges for schools across the country and for extracurricular activities like drama programs especially. After all, theater is about inclusion. It brings people together to tell stories that make individuals feel less alone, less isolated, and part of a greater community. Mixing this idea of togetherness with COVID-19 can feel like an insurmountable task.
However, Director Janet Paone remains committed to giving her students a season and a theater education. The first production this fall will be performed outside near the tennis courts (masks on), drama workshops with experts will be offered virtually, and a musical is in the works for the spring (safely produced of course).
In short, the show goes on.
As the Department begins this unprecedented school year, let's raise $13,000 (original goal of $10,000 achieved!!) for the Irondale Drama program. Your gift will directly support the Department and its many needs (don't forget about the supplies required for the new auditorium set to open in Spring 2021). Please consider making your tax-deductible gift by the end of our campaign, Saturday, October 31. Pandemic or not - these young people deserve our support and encouragement.
