Indi has been having some major tummy trouble! He's been experiencing some vomiting and diarrhea, and has started eating less and less. In only a month, he's lost a whole pound!
Weight loss in cats can be concerning. Weight loss in senior cats is even more dire. We took Indi to the vet just as fast as we could, and started with bloodwork to get a better understanding of where he was. Bloodwork results shows signs of kidney disease.
But at 12-years-old, Indi is an old cat, and we know there is more to the story. Kidney disease doesn't necessarily explain the symptoms we're seeing now. We need to get to the bottom of whatever is causing his tummy troubles! Indi needs to have an ultrasound so we can see what it going on, and provide the best possible treatment.
Indi came to Homeward Trails from a shelter in November 2020. He had sitting and sitting at the shelter for months, just waiting for someone to take him home. Indi's owner had died, and his whole world had turned upside down. But instead of love and compassion, all he found was the inside of a cage, day after day. Finally, he came to us, ready for a new life. Though he is still waiting for that perfect home, he gets to spend his days with a loving foster determined to see this senior cat live the good life he deserves.
Indi spent too long waiting for someone to care. We can't let him down now that he's with us! He deserves whatever help and support we can give.
