In Memory of Micah

In memory of Micah Weinberger

beloved son, brother, grandson, nephew, friend, scholar, athlete, and all-around lovely person, the Weinberger family asks that you direct your gifts in service to Running for a Better Oakland (RBO).

Running for a Better Oakland is a not-for-profit organization that encourages Kindergarten – 12th grade Oakland students to develop healthy lifestyles through running. By building confidence, setting goals, providing training and encouragement, RBO will give students the values for achievement and hard work that they can draw on for all areas of their lives.

Micah loved physical play and was a tenacious athlete, competing in track, wrestling and volleyball. He was proud to complete a half-marathon at the age of 12, as well as a 15 K and numerous 10K and 5K races, always placing near the top of his age class.

None who knew Micah can forget his smile and sense of humor, his lightning-fast mind, his endless curiosity, or his immense kindness. There’s little he enjoyed more than helping others, and he had a keen eye for noticing something that needed doing and simply doing it.

In memory of Micah, please give generously to this organization which supports our youth in leading vibrant, healthy lives in this way Micah so loved.
