Iris' owners left her home alone on the 4th of July and when they returned, Iris wasn't putting any weight on her leg. The family surrendered her to the local animal shelter because they couldn't afford to take her to the vet for diagnostics or treatment. The shelter is one of our regular partners and they called us for help. They got her into the vet where x-rays revealed one of her front legs is badly broken. She needs surgery to set the bone so that she can heal. It's an expensive surgery, one that the shelter doesn't have a budget for. We want to help Iris by not only getting her the surgery she needs, but then we want to bring her to Homeward Trails.
