We need your help!
KoKo's Youth is building a Tiny House Mobile Workshop. Teens are building the structure (on top of a street-safe Trailer), that then will tour around NYC to engage children of all ages in tinkering to make the structure into a sustainable Tiny House - ALL MADE OUT OF TRASH!
Currently kids are leading the charge to take action against climate change. KoKo NYC is here to collaborate with kids and teens as they seek to effect real change. Global warming is directly related to social-economic injustice. The Tiny House Mobile Workshop will be a way to reach kids in all parts of NYC.
How?
KoKo’s use of recyclables, repurposed electronics as well as lumber and hand tools engages KoKo kids to become creative engineers.
They explore every-day objects in a new and inventive way. By having kids tinker and build with unconventional materials, KoKo is empowering them to think about sustainability, putting a focus on the environment and how we can positively impact our planet.
The KoKo Tiny House Project
Based on the KoKo philosophy of sustainability and kid-centered learning, KoKo NYC is embarking on a new project to build a tiny house mobile workshop totally designed and created by kids. The KoKo Tiny House will act as a portable workshops space so that we can make KoKo classes even more accessible to kids and youth in underserved neighborhoods throughout NYC. The Tiny House will be totally off the grid, which means our kids will have to get creative, building bike generators, water collections tanks and solar ovens to power and run the workshop.
Our goal
Our goal is to raise $15,000 to fund the construction of the tiny house and allow us to offer free workshops for kids throughout the city. Help us empower today’s youth and save our planet with your generous donation!
