Jackie Caldwell
Transplant Type: Kidney
Jackie Caldwell is awaiting a new lease on life. In 2016, Jackie learned both of her kidneys were in complete failure. Since then, her kidney function has continued to decline. She is now on dialysis, which takes a toll on her quality of life and leaves her very tired. Doctors say a kidney transplant is necessary.
During this difficult time, Jackie is thankful for the love and support of her family and friends, especially her boyfriend, Andrew. Jackie looks forward to receiving a transplant that will allow her to feel better and be free from dialysis. Although she longs to do all the things she enjoys, like spending time with family and friends and going for walks, her health and dialysis schedule make it difficult. Jackie wants nothing more than to have her energy restored so she can attend college and find a job working with children. But right now, she needs your help.
The average kidney transplant costs more than $414,000, and that’s only the beginning. Even with insurance, which will cover a portion of the transplant costs, Jackie still faces significant expenses related to the surgery. For the rest of her life, she will need follow-up care and anti-rejection medications. Post-transplant medications are very expensive, and they’re as critical to her survival as the transplant itself.
When Jackie receives her transplant, she will have to temporarily relocate to be near the transplant center while she recovers, incurring substantial expenses for travel, food, and lodging. She is unable to work due to her health issues, further adding to her financial burdens.
You can help by making a tax-deductible donation to NFT in honor of Jackie. If you'd prefer to send your gift by mail, please send it to National Foundation for Transplants, 3249 W. Sarazen’s Circle, Suite 100, Memphis, TN 38125. Please be sure to write "in honor of Jackie Caldwell” on the memo line.
Thank you for your generosity!
