Since the founding of the Daughters of Israel in Miami in 1918, NCJW Miami has been instrumental in advocating for the rights of women, children and families in our community, creating community service, advocacy and educational opportunities for progressive women of all ages and incubating the leaders of today and tomorrow. The Greater Miami Section has a variety of educational programs, volunteer and advocacy opportunities for those who want to give a little of their time or more. We are actively involved in the process of tikkun olam, repair of the world, both within and beyond the Jewish community. If you are a progressive woman we hope you’ll feel NCJW is for you.

Who are we?

Compassionate. Courageous. Powerful.

We are married, partnered, and single, young and mature. Some of us full-time professionals, others full-time homemakers. We are entrepreneurs, executives, artists, doctors, volunteers, teachers, students and retirees. We are mothers, sisters and daughters. Our members are seasoned activists working beside those just puttingtheir toes in the water of community involvement. We are women with strong ties to our community, local schoolsand political and cultural institutions. We speak out and take a stand when others are silent. We work hard to achieve our goals. We believe in philanthropy, progressive ideals and meaningful action can change the world. We enjoy expanding our circle of friends and have fun along the way.We are seeking like-minded women of spirit and conscience to join us.We have…A faith in the future. A belief in action.

By 2006 our membership reached approximately 1000 women. We draw from communities including Miami, Miami Beach, Bay Harbor, Surfside, Bal Harbour, Golden Beach, Key Biscayne, Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, Pinecrest, Aventura, Hollywood, Ft. Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines, Weston, and Boca Raton.

Regardless of culture, ethnicity, religion or race,we share in the spirit of “Tikkun Olam,” Hebrew for “repairing the world.”
