Help Local Families Fighting Pediatric Cancer

The Cranford Jaycees are kicking off Track Friday 2019 with a special fundraiser that supports The Valerie Fund, a local NJ non-profit that has helped many Cranford families in the battle against pediatric cancer, and A PROM-ise To Our Community, a Cranford-based non-profit that is providing direct financial support to Cranford families currently in the battle.

The Jaycees will allocate 100% of the money raised through this fundraiser equally to each of the two efforts. 

The Valerie Fund

When Valerie Goldstein lost her battle to cancer at the age of nine, her parents, Ed and Sue, were determined to help other families in similar situations gain access to more comprehensive care in child centered atmospheres close to where they lived.

In 1977, just one year after Valerie passed away, Ed and Sue saw their vision realized when they opened the first Valerie Fund Center at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ, just 20 minutes from their home. 

The Cranford Jaycees have selected The Valerie Fund as a Track Friday 2019 beneficiary to help ensure that Ed and Sue's vision continues to benefit our local families both here in Cranford and beyond! The Valerie Fund has since been an invaluable resource to several Cranford families affected by pediatric cancer. 

A PROM-ise To Our Community

A PROM-ise To Our Community formed in 2019 to provide direct financial support for Cranford families with children battling cancer. At the center of PROM-ise's efforts is a prom-themed event to raise money to help Cranford families with their medical bills and special treatments. All proceeds from the event will go to Cranford families. 

The PROM-ise event will be held on October 26th from 7-11 PM at The Westwood in Garwood, NJ. More information is available via the organization's Facebook event page.
